Chapter 297 Setting Sail for Jinling
thout hesitation; that's what I call cool!" Clearly, Zhang Binghao unconsciously got closer to Wang Zheng in this interaction."To be honest, I still prefer drinking Maotai with its soy sauce aroma. Ea...Chapter 297 Heading towards Jinling
"Brother, you really helped us vent our frustrations!" The workers surrounded Wang Zheng, all of them extremely excited.
"Next time if they dare to come again, we'll gang up on them together. We're sure to beat the living daylights out of them until they're crying and calling for their parents."
"Brother, you've really done us a huge favor!"
The workers expressed their gratitude.
Earlier, Wang Zheng had managed to thoroughly thrash that Constant Fortune big shot in front of so many self-proclaimed elites. This performance alone won the hearts of all the workers. Of course, no one truly believed what he said about his "ideal city". At such a young age—looking no older than 30 years old—how could he possibly be the boss of this entire residential area
"They won't dare come back," Wang Zheng smiled calmly as he watched Dong Liwen's departing figure.
"Everyone, let's go back for lunch quickly. We still have work to do in the afternoon." Wang Zheng called out to the workers.
"Alright, now that we've chased away those little Japanese devils, let's head over for some food!" A group of sweaty workers cheerfully headed towards the construction site canteen.
"I heard you, Ah Cheng. It seems like the market order in your country isn't very good. Even broad daylight fights can break out. The investment environment here is truly worrying," Lewandowicz said with a mouthful of food.
"There are always scumbags everywhere and sunshine casts shadows," Wang Zheng responded, "This is also the case in Europe. You understand your country's major criminal organizations far better than I do."
"I'm an honest businessman who wouldn't dare to meddle with those shady areas of society," Lewandowicz declared confidently.
"Do you really think I'd believe that" Wang Zheng shot a glance at the braggart.
"But do you think they'll come looking for you again" Lewandowicz asked somewhat doubtfully.
"Why wait for them to come knocking Why can't I just go over there and take care of it myself After being bullied repeatedly, am I supposed to wait for an apology from the other side Am I that cheap" Wang Zheng retorted.
"You're quite the scoundrel," Lewandowski chuckled.
"Get lost."
"Mr. Wang, Mr. Wang!"
At this moment, a man in a white T-shirt quickly ran over from a car parked some distance away, wiping sweat while running; it seemed he was also sweating profusely.
"Mr. Wang, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were coming today and arrived late. I haven't had time to arrange for your reception," the man said. He turned out to be Ji Rong International Group's manager of the Nanjiang branch, Jiang Yiping.
"No need to make arrangements, I just came by for a look." Wang Zheng glanced at Jiang Yiping without expression.
This glance made Jiang Yiping, who had years of experience in reading people’s expressions and moods in business circles, instantly nervous. Could it be that this senior vice president from the Ji Rong International headquarters suddenly paid an unannounced visit to the Ideal City construction site upon seeing something he was unhappy with Was he now harboring dissatisfaction towards him
Thinking of a series of recent events, Jiang Yiping’s heart instantly sank.
"What's going on with Everpro Group" As expected by Jiang Yiping, Wang Zheng brought up the matter.
"Everpro…" Jiang Yiping's mind raced as he considered how to phrase his words: "Everpro has been eyeing this land for a long time. We managed to get it ahead of them, and they’ve been sending people here to cause trouble."
"Trouble Is that all the trouble they're causing"
Wang Zheng shot Jiang Yiping an sideways glance: "I heard they threatened to evict us within three days. If you still call this causing trouble, then give me a proper explanation."
"It's because I didn't take it seriously enough," Jiang Yiping admitted without arguing back; he knew that if he insisted on defending himself now, Wang Zheng would grow more disapproving of him.
"If you don’t pay more attention, then the Ideal City plot will very likely fall into their hands. Even if they can't get it, they'll obstruct us at every turn. Can’t you see this"
Wang Zheng’s stern words made cold sweat trickle down Jiang Yiping's face in large drops, even though the sun was intense and he felt an eerie chill run through him.
"Allowing a local gang of bullies from Nanjiang to get above their head jeopardizes the reputation of Jirong International. If there are further issues at the construction site in Ideal City and I, as Senior Vice President, have to travel all the way from Beijing to handle them, you can imagine what your fate will be." Wang Zheng's voice turned from stern to low and threatening, causing Jiang Yiping to feel even colder.
"Manager Jiang, is there anything else you wish to say" asked Wang Zheng coldly.
“This... I assure you that nothing like this will happen again," said Jiang Yiping, feeling ashamed.
"Compared with a moneyed group like Hengsheng, Jirong International has greater prospects. I believe Manager Jiang is well aware of it." Wang Zheng folded his arms and continued: "Do not let me discover any underhanded dealings between you two; otherwise, I won’t forgive you."
“Absolutely not, absolutely not! On this point, Mr. Wang, you can rest assured!” Jiang Yiping immediately patted his chest to assure him.
"I hope so." Wang Zheng gently patted Jiang Yiping’s arm with a slight smile: "Over these years, you’ve likely amassed quite a fortune here in Zhangjiagang. If my guess is correct, the profits your division has accumulated might even surpass those of the regional director overseeing all of Nanjiang Province."
Jiang Yiping felt shaken and lowered his head to avoid eye contact, trying to hide the panic in his eyes.
"Do not focus on petty gains nor neglect this project just because it’s low-profit. The potential for growth in the Nanjiang market is enormous; you should be well aware of that."
“Yes, yes, your teaching will always guide me.” Jiang Yiping assured him: “From now on, nothing like this will happen again.”
"Alright, I’ll wait and see." Wang Zheng smiled with a hint of unspeakable meaning in it.
Wang Zheng knew that the head of Zhangjiagang Branch, Jiang Yiping, had been with Jirong International for quite some time. He was capable, resourceful, but also had his own schemes. While he could be greedy and profit-driven, overall, he managed to expand the branch's territory, making him a decent regional manager. However, in recent years, Zhangjiagang Branch’s growth had noticeably slowed down, especially given the current incidents at Ideal City; Wang Zheng felt it necessary to give Jiang Yiping a stern warning.
Of course, he wouldn’t dismiss Jiang Yiping from Jirong International; no one was better suited or more entrenched in Zhangjiagang than him.
"Arrange a car for me," said Wang Zheng. "I’m heading to Jinling."
The audacity of DONG Liwen, the head of Hengsheng’s security team, bringing his men to cause trouble at Ideal City's construction site was something even Wang Zheng could figure out without thinking; it must have been backed by higher-ups. Otherwise, how could Dong Qinyin act so recklessly Jiangnan is a lucrative market, and it seems Zhang Binghao’s people are not content.
Jiang Yiping provided his personal Audi A8 for Wang Zheng to drive swiftly towards Jinling.
Note: Thank you for your support, Gao.
About writing words, I want to share a few heartfelt thoughts.
The recent two chapters were short on words. Due to certain circumstances, there probably won't be many more in the near future.
During the day, I'm quite busy at work, and once I get home, I start writing right away without taking my wife out shopping or watching TV with her because of the demands of writing. I've neglected her a lot because of this.
Sometimes when I'm too busy, she will help me write a bit, while I am writing at night, she cooks and cleans for us. I take all these things for granted without realizing that they shouldn't be taken for granted. She has her own social circle and friends, but to accommodate me, she's made so many sacrifices.
My wife once said to me: "Can you save some drafts That way, I won't have to worry about your updates every day. Every weekend we spend together hasn’t been fully relaxing."
As a husband, making my wife worried every day is something I'm failing at.
I'm not fast at writing, so it's hard for me to save drafts, and I'm not a full-time writer. Since the book was released until now, more than eight months have passed without missing an update. Of course, many authors have been updating much better than me, but I've truly managed to keep up with updates all this time. Even if there's a dinner party late at night that ends around 8 or 9 PM and makes me dizzy from alcohol, I still have to finish the day’s chapter. This is an obligation.
Now thinking about it, in these eight months, I've really taken too much from my wife; she's been my rock, but I’ve been squandering her care.
In the future, I want to spend more time with her and continue updating as usual without worrying her.
Going forward, I will try to compress my writing time during the day. If I have to take weekends off for personal reasons, please understand me because my wife is the most important person in my life, making her sad is the last thing I want and feel defeated about.
I’m going to shoot a wedding photo shoot the day after tomorrow, which will be one of the most significant moments in my lifetime. Yet, at this crucial moment, I’ve made her unhappy; it's truly regrettable.
Adopting a line from Yuhao Ming’s lyrics - If there is such a thing as too poor, it would mean no longer daring to dream.
I have dreams. I want to see the prosperity that hasn't been seen yet and witness the grandeur of my ideals alongside her.
Dear Ningxia, thank you for being with me on this journey, tolerating so much and sacrificing so much for me.g squinted his eyes, looking at the port where a large cargo ship was slowly entering under the afterglow of sunset.Qiang Dongsong also wore Delta Force clothing and a beret, holding a blade of grass...
